  • Checking the fuse
  • Quick summary

⚠️ Safety Warning

Before working on any electrical equipment, ensure it is fully isolated and cannot be accidentally switched back on. If you are not confident carrying out these checks, please contact a qualified electrician.

If Your Machine Does Not Switch On

  1. Unplug your hedge trimmer from the mains socket.
  2. Plug it into a different mains socket.
    • If the machine works, the original socket may be faulty. Please contact an electrician to inspect it.
    • If it still does not work, continue to the next step.

Checking the Fuse

We recommend following a guide such as WikiHow’s article on how to check and replace a fuse:
“How to Change a Fuse”

Quick Summary

  • Try a different mains socket.
  • Check and replace the fuse if necessary.
  • Inspect the power cable for damage. If damaged, do not use the machine and contact a qualified electrician.

If the Issue Persists

If all electrical checks are correct and the machine still does not work, the issue may be internal (such as a wiring or motor fault). In this case, please contact our technical support team if your product is still under warranty.

My Electric Hedge Trimmers blades will not cut or move

This article covers basic troubleshooting steps you can take if the blades are not moving or cutting.

Note

Please do not use your hedge trimmer on foliage that exceeds the cutting capacity stated in your manual or technical data chart (typically between 14mm–24mm, depending on the model).

Checking for Debris or Damaged Blades

  1. Visually inspect the blades to ensure there is no debris or material preventing movement.
  2. Always make sure the machine is switched off and unplugged before removing any blockages.
  3. Check the blades for damage, as damaged blades may prevent proper operation. If damage is found, a local garden equipment repair specialist should be able to assist.
  4. Ensure the blades are properly lubricated. We recommend using a suitable multi-purpose grease.

If the Issue Persists

If there is no visible blockage or damage, the issue is likely related to the internal gearing mechanism.

Do not attempt to open or dismantle the machine, as it is an electrical appliance and requires specialist repair.

Please contact our technical or warranty support team for further assistance.

How do I remove the blade cover from my Electric Hedge Trimmer

This article explains how to safely remove the blade cover (sheath) from your hedge trimmer.

⚠️ Safety Notice

Ensure the hedge trimmer is switched off and disconnected from the power supply before attempting to remove the blade cover.

Removing the Blade Cover

On some models, the blade cover / sheath may fit tightly over the blade for safety.

To remove it:

  • Hold the blade cover firmly.

  • This allows air to enter and helps release the cover from the teeth.
  • Carefully slide the cover off the blade.

Important Information

  • Do not force the blade cover off, as this may cause damage.
  • If you are unsure, please refer to your owner’s manual for model-specific instructions.
